Take A Tour of Daniel Island This Weekend!
The Charleston Horticultural Society’s thirteenth annual Gardens for Gardeners Tour is taking place this weekend right here on Daniel Island. This is your opportunity to take a self-guided journey (walking and driving) through some of the magnificent contemporary home gardens and parks in Charleston’s island town.
Compared to many other areas of Charleston, Daniel Island is a relatively new suburban oasis that was established in the mid-1990s. The carefully planned and meticulously maintained parks and gardens here help continue the Charleston tradition of creating a “city set in a garden,” a hallmark of the Holy City for years.
Homeowners on Daniel Island take exceptional pride in making their space an oasis that fits their lifestyle and needs. Some have used elaborate garden designs by well-known landscape architects, while others have created their own special retreats.
Enjoy a Sunday afternoon exploring the best gardens and open spaces that Daniel Island has to offer. The tour takes place on Sunday, October 13 from 1-5 pm (click here for ticket information and further details). And while you’re here, check out the 2013 Coastal Living Showhouse, open for tours for just two more weekends!
