Sundown on the Wando Returns

May 31, 2012

Daniel Island’s Riverfront Music Series is back in a big way! This free riverfront concert series offers performances by some of Charleston’s most popular local bands. Residents are welcome to come out and bring their favorite picnic foods, beverages, blankets and chairs, to take advantage of the cool river breezes and live musical entertainment. The concerts begin at 6:00 pm and end around 9:00 pm. Parking is free and leashed pets are welcome.

Kicking off the series Friday, June 1 is Heart and Soul, offering a funk & soul vibe that has delighted audiences for more than a decade in the Lowcountry. And, while you’re out, be sure to stop by the Duck Race Tent to adopt a duck for the Rotary Charity Race the following day!

Tuesday, July 3 features a patriotic concert, “Salute to Our Heroes”. The Charleston Community Band will open from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, followed by the Air Force Blue Aces from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Come out to show your support for our Armed Forces!

Friday, July 27 offers The Mighty Kicks. Formed in the 80’s, this high-energy band gets their flavor from the likes of The Fantastic Shakers and the Chairmen of the Board. This is sure to make for a dancing good-time.
