Daniel Island residents living on the south end of the island have a new option for staying cool this summer. The brand new pool and Crow’s Nest in Edgefield Park are now open and quickly becoming a favorite spot for summer swimming and special events.

Aptly named, the Crow’s Nest is a two-story structure that provides a shaded open-air space poolside, and a second-story screened porch boasting a bird’s-eye view of the pool and surrounding marsh vistas. On a clear day, you can even see past the tip of Daniel Island’s south end to Charleston’s iconic Ravenel Bridge. A catering kitchen and restrooms make the Crow’s Nest the perfect venue for special events, like the recent Summer Soiree, where residents enjoyed dinner, cocktails and dancing into the evening hours.

Down at pool level, the Olympic-sized pool, complete with 25-meter lap lanes and a beach entry, has been a popular with residents of all ages. Many island children are loving the Daniel Island Property Owners’ Association’s summer camps, which take place at the pool and Crow’s Nest. On Friday evenings, families gather at the pool for a swim to kick off the weekend, and for Food Truck Friday, featuring a different food truck each week.

The pool at Edgefiled Park is one of three swimming pools available to residents living on the south end of Daniel Island. Residents interested in using the Crow’s Nest for a private event are asked to reserve the space through the Daniel Island Property Owners’ Association.
