Daniel Island Celebrates A Grand July 4th

Daniel Island residents enjoyed a spectacular lineup of events in honor of our nation’s birthday during a two-day celebration here in Charleston’s island town.

On Tuesday evening, July 3, the “Sundown On The Wando Salute To Our Heroes” concert drew hundreds of people who brought picnics and relaxed while listening to a free, patriotic concert at Children’s Park on the banks of the Wando River.

The festivities continued on the 4th with a Pancake Breakfast followed by live entertainment and the annual Daniel Island 4th of July Parade through Daniel Island’s downtown and neighborhood streets. The parade ended at Pierce Park Pool & Pavilion with a Poolside Celebration & Cookout. There was food, drinks and games for all ages throughout the afternoon, including a highlight of the day, the “Red, White and Blue Corrugated Cardboard Pool Regatta Race.”
