Don’t Miss These Springtime Events in Charleston and on Daniel Island!

Spring is here! And we’re already seeing an increase in visitors to Daniel Island and Charleston. That trend will surely continue in the coming weeks as Charleston’s famous springtime events get underway. If you’re making your spring travel plans – or even if you already live in Charleston – be sure to reserve time on your calendar for some of these “don’t-miss” springtime events in Charleston:

  1. Charleston Fashion Week
    March 15-19
    Charleston Magazine presents this five-night celebration of fashion in downtown Charleston’s Marion Square. Fashion Week features more than 30 runway shows and showcases emerging designers and model talent from along the east coast. Visit for details.
  2. Volvo Car Open
    April 2-10
    One of our favorite spring time events on Daniel Island is the Volvo Car Open (formerly the Family Circle Cup). This nationally televised WTA event showcases the top players in women’s tennis right here on Daniel Island.   3. Battery Pro Soccer Home Games
    Starting March 19
    The Charleston Battery’s home games take place right here on Daniel Island at MUSC Health Stadium. Come check out a match before the temperatures start to soar – it’s a great way to spend an evening with the family. Visit for the Battery’s complete schedule and ticket information.
  4. Festival of Houses and Gardens
    March 16 – April 24
    Set amid the ambience of the city’s Historic District, this series of award-winning tours and educational events showcase Charleston’s distinctive architecture, history, gardens and culture. The tours provide a rare opportunity for guests to go inside the private houses and gardens of some of America’s most beautiful historic residences during our peak blooming season.   5. Charleston International Antiques Show
    March 18-20
    Attention antique lovers: This three-day antique show will bring more than 30 of the nation’s finest antique dealers to Charleston with a wide range of fine antiques, decorative accessories, porcelains, textiles, jewelry, architectural and garden items.   6. Summerville Flowertown Festival
    April 1-3
    Summerville’s annual spring festival presents more than 200 artisans and attracts visitors from all across the country, who come to see the town’s famed azaleas in bloom and shop among an outstanding display of artwork and crafts.   7. Cooper River Bridge Run
    April 2
    This popular 10K run and walk attracts tens of thousands of participants each year at the beginning of April. The route starts in Mt. Pleasant, crosses the iconic Ravenel Bridge over the Cooper River and finishes in the heart of historic Charleston. Visit for details on how to register.
  8. Sperry Charleston Race Week
    April 14-17
    This event offers sailors a challenging three-day event on Charleston Harbor and in the Atlantic waters beyond. The conditions and fronts that roll through the Lowcountry in April challenge even the best skippers. It’s great fun to watch – and to celebrate with the crews at the evening events.   9. Southern Ground Music Festival
    Zac Brown Band has once again orchestrated an event that promises to be the ultimate culmination of southern food and Southern Rock. Coming to MUSC Health Stadium this year’s highly-anticipated Southern Ground Music & Food Festival will feature a line-up that includes the Zac Brown Band with performances by Thomas Rhett, the Marshall Tucker Band, Michael Franti, Sam Bush, Hunter Hayes, Kacey Musgroves and much more!     May 27 – June 12
