Boat Landings

As of 7:30 AM on Thursday, March 26, both the Beresford Creek and Ralston Creek boat landings will be closed to all boaters, vehicles and trailers. This closure is necessary due to City and State COVID-19 orders on gatherings and recreational spaces, general safety and overcrowding concerns. The POA consulted with the City of Charleston Police Department and SC Department of Natural Resources as well. Other area boat landings have had to close for similar reasons.

As a reminder, overnight parking is never allowed at our boat landings. These areas, like all of our amenities and common areas, are under the jurisdiction of the City of Charleston Police Department.

There are two community boat landings on Daniel Island. The Beresford Creek Street boat landing is available to residents of the Daniel Island Community Association (DICA).  The Ralston Creek boat landing is located in Great Oak Park and available to residents of the Daniel Island Park Association (DIPA).

These are privately owned and operated facilities located within residential neighborhoods. Users are subject to rules and regulations designed to minimize inconvenience to the neighboring property owners.  To gain access to these facilities, download the appropriate forms below and deliver them to the association office.

*Note:  The city of Charleston plans to build a public boat landing in Governor’s Park, the area adjacent to the Family Circle Cup property.  For more information, please contact the city of Charleston Parks Department.

Island Trails

The island’s extensive 25+ mile trail system winds through maritime forest, along marsh and the water’s edge and through neighborhoods and the island’s downtown, offering scenic views and a safe and convenient environment for runners, walkers and cyclists.

The POA recently installed easy to follow markers along trails throughout the island and launched a new app for iOS and Android users. The free app uses GPS to guide residents and guests along their chose path. It also features Daniel Island-inspired playlists to enjoy along the trails and the option to share their progress with friends on Facebook.
