At Guggenheim Terrace (outside of Agaves Cantina). Join in celebrating Fat Tuesday with a fantabulous Mardi Gras Celebration. Be a part of the sidewalk parade kicking off at Black Tie Music Academy (BTMA) and marching down to Guggenheim Terrace and party with the V Tones band of Charleston. Enjoy food and drink specials offered by area restaurants that coincide with the event!
Schedule of Events:
4:30 PM Meet up at Black Tie Music Academy. Find your spot in the parade line-up. Address: 162 Seven Farms Drive, Suite 305, Daniel Island, SC
5:00 PM Parade Kicks Off and marches to Guggenheim Terrace. This is an easy low impact sidewalk march that lasts about 10 minutes.
5:00 PM – 8:00 pm The V Tones of Charleston delight your senses with Charleston’s only ukulele hot club jug, vaudeville, ragtime, neo-retro-postpostmodern, beachfront quasi- primitive anachronistic revolutionary anti-inflammatory mass catharsis jazz, freakout and philharmonic group therapy session band.
WHAT kind of fun will there be? Stiltwalker, fire spinner, juggler, tarot card reading, led hula hoops, artists and more. The goal is to have a few hours of good clean fun for all ages while expressing your individuality.
WHAT should you do? Dress up! Wear a costume, get decked out in your favorite tutu and cape, put lights on your football helmet, don some butterfly wings, polish off that old tuba…whatever way you want to express yourself, in a fun family-friendly way, goes!
HEY KIDS! Join Black Tie Music Academy on Thursday, February 6th, 13th & 20th and BTMA will teach you how to march, play an instrument for the parade and make masks and costumes! Just show up at BTMA on Daniel Island from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM on those days. It’s free!
