Daniel Island Beach Sweep

Daniel Island Beach Sweep

Help clean up our waterways – counts for school, youth group, etc. volunteer credit (bring your forms)!

Beach Sweep/River Sweep is an annual event for South Carolina since 1988 and is held in conjunction with The Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup, which involves several hundred-thousand volunteers in over 75 nations.

  • Meet at Daniel Island’s Children’s/Turtle Park at the end of River Landing Drive no later than 4 PM (near 101 River Landing Dr.)
  • Trash/Recycling bags and Trash Tally sheets provided
  • Non-alcoholic beverages/snacks will be available courtesy of Daniel Island POA
  • Individual volunteers may come by kayak or paddle board to help us reach debris further out

What to wear?:

  • Sturdy shoes/rain boots (NO flip-flops/open toes)
  • Long pants/long sleeved shirts
  • Hats/sunglasses/sunblock
  • Bug spray

What to bring?

  • Sturdy gloves
  • Trash picker tool
  • Can do attitude!
