The Daniel Island Annual Fall Red Balloon Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, September 21st from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm at homes throughout Daniel Island. The sale provides an opportunity for shoppers to wander the neighborhoods of Daniel Island in search of unique finds and special deals.
The Red Balloon Yard Sale is a semi-annual yard sale held twice a year. While the Daniel Island CC&R’s prohibit these types of sales conducted from a residence/unit at other times during the year, the Covenants do allow for these yard sales to take place twice a year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring.
On Saturday, September 21st from 7 AM to 1 PM, put out a red balloon on your mailbox or porch to let everyone know you are participating in this Island wide event.
If you would like for your address to be added to our Daniel Island Fall 2019 Red Balloon Yard Sale Map, please email email@example.com. Please include in the subject line of the email “2019 DI Fall Red Balloon Yard Sale Map” and then in the body of the email please provide your Daniel Island street address as well as a good contact phone number in case we need to get back with you for any reason. We will then include that address you give to us on our participating homes map. This is a “complimentary” service being offered to anyone who wishes to list their address on the yard sale map. This is only for homes located on Daniel Island.
If you need us to remove your address from the map should you find that you are unable to participate, please just email Barbara to let her know and your address will be taken off of the map prior to the event. Promotion of this map will be featured in our POA newsletter and in the Post and Courier the week of the yard sale. The POA office will also have red balloons that you can pick up should you need them. Our office hours are M-F from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
For those of you who are participating in the yard sale and would like to donate their unsold items to Goodwill who is partnering with the DIPOA office on this event, Goodwill will not be providing pickup on the day of the event, but instead will have their truck at the Volvo Car Stadium front entrance near the front gates on Saturday, September 28th (one week after the yard sale) from 12 – 2 pm. Goodwill will be providing hot dogs, drinks and chips to everyone who drops off donations on Saturday, September 28th from 12 – 2 pm at this location. In addition, they will also provide the first 20 donors with $5.00 Chick-fil-A gift cards.
Goodwill wanted to let everyone know that if any resident has “large furniture” that needs to be picked up, that they will not be accepting large furniture donations on September 28th ,but that they should call 843-609-6145 to schedule an appointment for another day. These appointments will not take place on the day of the yard sale but instead on a day agreed upon by both the resident and Goodwill. Residents should call the 843-609-6145 to schedule the large furniture or other pickups or should you have any additional questions.
