May’s Non-Profit – The Humanities Foundation on Daniel Island

As the weather gets warmer, we are reminded that summer is fast approaching. When the children of our low-income communities are let out of school for the summer months, the vast majority of their parents still have to go to work full time, placing a burden on these families to find childcare and activities for their children during the time when they would usually be at school.

At the Humanities Foundation on Daniel Island, they want to provide the youth of our low-income communities with every opportunity to learn, grow, have fun and succeed this summer. They are proud to announce their latest campaign, Spring Fling for Summer Camp! Will you help a child in need?

By donating to Spring Fling for Summer Camp, you can ensure a child will get the chance to participate in educational and supportive activities, absolutely free-of-charge. This summer camp allows the children the opportunity to go on field trips, take sports lessons, make art, get visits from community partners like the bookmobile and so much more, all in the company of their peers as well as caring adults with experience in youth mentor ship. This program not only helps the children, it also helps their families by providing free childcare during the summer months, five days a week.

It takes a community to create lasting change, and the youth are our future. Won’t you sponsor a child to attend this program by donating to Spring Fling for Summer Camp today?
