On June 17, 2015 our city experienced a soul-shattering event. The tragic shooting at downtown Charleston’s Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church rocked the Charleston community – along with the entire nation – to its core. In response to this tragedy the City of Charleston has established “The Mother Emanuel Hope Fund,” created to help financially support victims’ families and the Emanuel AME community.
