2018 Daniel Island Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale

March 3 @ 7:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Red Balloon Yard Sale is a semi-annual yard sale held twice a year.  While the Daniel Island CC&R’s prohibit these types of sales conducted from a residence/unit at other times during the year, the Covenants do allow for these yard sales to take place twice a year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring.

Mark your house with a red balloon to let everyone know you are participating in this Island wide event.

Please click HERE to view the map of homes participating in the sale.

For those of you who aren’t able to sell all of your items and would like to donate them… the Daniel Island POA is partnering with Low Country Orphan Relief (LCOR) for this years Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale. LCOR will accept unsold items that you wish to donate. They will have their truck parked on Seven Farms Drive underneath the 526 Bridge and near the Volvo Car Stadium frontage road. Donations will be accepted from 10 AM – 2 PM on Saturday, March 3rd.

LCOR accepts gently used clothes, coats, shoes, stuffed animals and books, new underwear, socks, school supplies and toiletries.  They are always very much in need of khaki pants for school uniforms and shoes. Please help support this wonderful organization with your donations. Below is information on LCOR and it’s services and mission statement.  For complete information visit their website at http://lowcountryorphanrelief.org/

Lowcountry Orphan Relief, Inc.

We work directly with other non-profits, schools, foster parents, and government agencies to identify the individual needs of these and other children in severe situations. We intervene at critical junctures in the lives of these children, with products and services that provide a strong, positive impact. Since 2006, we have clothed over 22,000 children in the Tri-County area.

LOR uses more than 76% of all income given to them to provide for the children’s needs. Presently, community volunteers at our Distribution Center are collecting and shelving donations and filling orders for each child from area shelters, foster care and those removed from the custody of their parents. They receive clothing, toiletries, books and school supplies within 48 hours.

LOR has also built libraries at emergency shelters and group homes in the tri-county area and, in addition, conducts two events per year in order that the children may get out of the shelters and enjoy new surroundings.

Our Mission Statement
