The Daniel Island Club is the island’s in-town country club, offering exceptional Daniel Island golf, swimming, tennis, fitness and dining opportunities for members and their guests. The club’s top-ranked golf courses were designed by Tom Fazio and Rees Jones. Members mingle in a gracious clubhouse with exceptional dining and event venues and expansive Men’s and Ladies’ lounges. Nearby, the Park Club is a resort-style center for swimming, tennis and fitness. The club and its amenities are the centerpiece of the Daniel Island Park neighborhood.
The clubhouse is a comfortable “home away from home” for members and their guests. Indoor and outdoor dining venues offer an eclectic menu of Lowcountry favorites and other creative dishes. An expansive ballroom is a coveted location for weddings and special events, while a private board room accommodates smaller functions. Croquet and bocce lawns offer outdoor recreation. And plush locker rooms, lounges and a golf shop make the clubhouse a popular destination for golfers. Plus, the Club Cottages offer exceptional on-site luxury accommodations for members and their guests, and are the ultimate way to experience the club lifestyle in Daniel Island Park.
Beresford Creek Course
Playing 7,293 yards from the championship tees, the Beresford Creek course is a par 72 course that traverses pristine marsh, creeks and waterways, providing incredible views. “The Beresford Creek course has its own distinctive character and feel,” says Tom Fazio. “This is partly because of the width and placement of the holes, the massive trees, the open marshes along the fairways – and the position of the holes along expansive corridors of land.”
Ralston Creek Course
Against a stunning backdrop of natural saltwater marsh and tidal creeks architect Rees Jones has designed a true Lowcountry classic. Ralston Creek is a par 72 playing 7,446 yards from the championship tees. “The layout has all the elements of a stern test of golf,” says Jones, “including strategically placed, sculpted fairway bunkers, greenside bunkers placed to protect the championship pin positions, and enough length for the long hitters.”
The Park Club offers club members and their guests a refuge for comfort and relaxation, as well as more active sports recreation. This lushly landscaped oasis incorporates two spacious resort-style pools, an outdoor grill and cabana bar and state-of-the-art fitness center. Also on site, a tennis pavilion serves two hard surface courts, eight Har-Tru courts and a grass court. The Club’s tennis professionals oversee a variety of instructional programs and clinics for members of all ages.
The Park Club is currently undergoing an expansion. The fitness center will grow by 4,000 square feet to include increased fitness amenities and new locker rooms, the Cabana Bar and dining area will be expanded, and new Har-Tru tennis courts will be added. The expansion is expected to be complete soon.
Golf Learning Center
The finest components of golf instruction for players of all skill levels have been assembled at the club’s Golf Learning Center. The facility is expansive, measuring more than 400 yards from front to back. Mature live oaks define practice fairways, allowing players to simulate on-course tee shots. Bunkers and swales frame many of the target greens. The instruction programs are led by former touring professional Ron Cerrudo and a team of talented teaching professionals.
The Daniel Island Club hosts a variety of events for members and their guests throughout the year. Favorites include the annual oyster roast the day after Thanksgiving, the Park Club’s July 4th celebrations and seasonal golf events like the annual Fall Hunt and spring Member-Guest tournament. Club events aren’t just geared towards adult members but special activities are available for younger members including summer camps, movie nights, and junior golf and tennis tournaments.
