ALERT! Dogs Off Leash Are Dangerous

Dogs and pets off leash are illegal and not allowed on Daniel Island as per our DI governing documents and the City of Charleston Ordinances Sections 5-4 and 5-5.

Violators could face a fine of up to $500 or be held personally liable if someone were to get hurt by an off leash dog.

Daniel Island does have an off-leash and dog run area at the City of Charleston Governor’s Park located north of the Mark Clark Bridge. This is an area that provides for off-leash recreation, training, and exercise opportunities for dog owners. While in dog runs or off-leash areas, animals are required to remain under sufficient strict voice control.
